The MET – The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET) is the largest museum in New York, and also the most visited. It covers across 5 thousand years of art through two million works of art, and 30 annual exhibitions. It exhibits masterpieces by artists such as Monet, Leonardo da Vinci, Georgia O’Keeffe, Pablo Picasso and Van Gogh. It also stands out for celebrating The Met Gala every year, known as “fashion night,” and it receives over seven million visitors per year.
American Museum of Natural History – It is 148 years old and gathers impressive exhibits, such as the one of the 28-meter long blue whale, as well as the skeleton of a tyrannosaurus rex of 37 meters long! It also houses the largest meteorite exhibited in the world: the Ahnighito, a 34-ton fragment of the Cape York meteorite. The planetarium and the library complete the scientific and cultural offer of this wonderful venue, also the set of many Hollywood films.
Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum – It is a floating museum dedicated to show history and science through real ships, such as the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (which survived various attacks in World War II); the Space Shuttle Enterprise (the first orbiter of the Space Shuttle system); a British Airways Concorde aircraft, and the USS Growler submarine. A must-go place to visit and get closer to the history of the United States.
9/11 Tribute Museum – It remembers and honors the victims of the attacks of September 11, 2001. It is located in the same place of the former World Trade Center. There recounts the story of that fateful day through artifacts, witnesses and first-hand stories.
